The series follows Fang Jinchang, who was born into a poor family. Through hard work and diligence, he becomes a police inspector and is about to marry his fiancée, Xie Yueming. However, he has a despicable and malicious biological younger brother named Zhong Weishun. Zhong Weishun was separated from Fang Jinchang in their childhood and was adopted by a wealthy stepfather. For personal gain, Zhong Weishun harms his biological father and, leveraging his family's influence, causes Fang Jinchang to be dismissed from his job and his engagement to be broken off.
